Barber and the Boy

Barber and Boy

A man goes into a barber shop, holding a boy by the hand. After a shampoo, shave and a haircut, the man lifts the boy onto the barber chair and says, “I’ll be right back. I’m going to go next door and pick up some bread and milk.”

After the boy’s haircut was finished, the barber remarked, “Your dad’s taking along time. I hope he hasn’t forgotten about you.”

“Oh,” said the boy, “that’s not my dad. That’s just a guy who walked up, took me by the hand and said, ‘Come on. We’re going to get a free haircut.’ ”
